Mtv Awards
Kanye West has apologised for spoiling Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in New York.
The 19-year-old country pop singer-songwriter from Wyomissing is very popular. Swift sold four million albums in 2008.
But during her speech, the rap star interrupted, saying: "Taylor, I'm really happy for you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."
His misplaced comment has naturally raised a lot of dust. Even President Obama reacted (off the record), saying that the young lady seemed like "a perfectly nice person", and that West’s objection was "inappropriate".
West wrote on his blog later: "I'm soooo sorry to Taylor Swift, her fans and her mom."
"I spoke to her mother right after, and she said the same thing my mother would've said."
Beyonce won Video of the year. Other prizes went to Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Green Day, Eminem and TI.
