Edible art
Lots of children make pictures by glueing dried pasta onto paper. You've probably tried it yourself. But not many fully-fledged artists use food as their medium. However, Prudence Staite is one artist who has made a business out of food art.
Prudence is Britain's leading food artist. She comes from Gloucestershire, England. Whilst studying at university she got tired of using the same old materials. So, she came up with the idea of making art out of food. She says: "I want art to be something that you can interact with directly, by biting it and ultimately digesting it."
The artist had made cheese sculptures of Barack Obama and Cheryl Cole. She has also made chocolate models. One was of television presenter Jonathan Ross. She has also replicated Kylie Minogue in pancakes! Prudence has secured a contract with a leading UK department store for her delicious chocolate teapots! Her edible works have also been exhibited at Kings Road Gallery in London. Whatever next?
